Achievement of solving educational issues in developing countries.


2021 EDU-PORT Japan Project

Digital Knowledge Co., Ltd is engaged in the Edu-Port Japan Research Project funded by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology-Japan (MEXT) (※1) Digital Knowledge Co., Ltd (herein after DK) is located in Taitoku, Tokyo, and established by Mr. Hiroaki Haga,CEO. DK is solely focused on e-learning with the proud track record of installations at over 2000 schools and companies. DK is engaged in “Development of an educational model for solving public health and SDGs issues through online “Tokkatsu” (special activities)” in cooperation with PADECO. Co., Ltd.


Background and purpose of the survey

Cognitive ability, and social and emotional learning are gained an attention in the education field of 21st century throughout the world. The role of schools except for subject teaching is re-recognized. The survey of ‘Development of an educational model for solving public health and SDGs issues through online “Tokkatsu” (special activities)’ aims to verify the effectiveness on online Japanese-style “Tokkatsu” in promoting public health education and learning to solve the SDGs issues through ICT in four 4 target countries (Egypt, Malaysia, Indonesia and Uzbekistan) , and create the model according to local context in each country along with corresponding to Society5.0(※2). Japanese-style class discussions will be held in multiple countries to discuss themes such as SDGs-related problems in terms of health and hygiene and so on with the aim of creating healthy lifestyle habits such as handwashing and changing behavior both at school and at home.

The Role of DK

DK contributes to realization of Japanese style “Tokkatsu” through ICT utilizing knowhow of e-learning. DK supports to create its model through establishment of the system on website in which practices of Japanese style of holistic education in each country are shared throughout the world. In addition, establishment of the system for ‘Japanese-style class discussion’ enable students in multiple counties to participate online.

In addition to serving as director of Japan’s largest e-learning group organization “e-Learning Consortium Japan” and running Japan’s only comprehensive e-learning forum “e-Learning Award Forum”, we participate in various other social contribution initiatives to further the development of e-learning, such as the e-Learning Association, ICT Education Promotion Council of Japan and The University CIO Forum.
