Background
The KDDI Foundation has been inviting trainees from various Asian countries to Japan and conducting technology transfer and human resource development. However, since March 2020, due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection, it has become difficult to implement training involving travel. KDDI Foundation promptly planned remote training using online methods and utilized e-learning systems twice in the fiscal years 2020 and 2021.
An overseas-exclusive e-learning ASP service optimized for delivery environment/language environment/support.
The Knowledge Deli Global utilizes a system with English as the default language and operates on servers based in Singapore. This setup enables trainees to smoothly participate in training without language barriers. Prior to the commencement of training, trainees accessed the learning environment using the provided ID and password to ensure there were no issues with viewing. Throughout the training period, trainees were able to learn at their own pace using available devices such as tablets, PCs, and smartphones, and could ask questions by contacting KDDI Foundation administrators through the system whenever needed, resolving any doubts. As a result, trainees who completed the online training were able to receive evaluations such as “recommendation of this training to colleagues” from them.
Activities related to remote training implementation
As part of the preparation for remote training, the following services were utilized.
- Operational training: It is consist of explanation of an overview of the system, specific tasks such as registering content, and checking learning record, which was conducted online.
- Lecture video recording: We utilized our in-house recording studio to capture the lecture videos. These videos were utilized for a training session.
- Support Center: We provided secondary support for operational queries and inquiries from trainees via email and phone as part of system support.

We will continue to engage in fruitful remote training amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, we are simultaneously engaged in support activities targeting people studying IT technology at vocational training schools with the goal of re-employment in web-based industries.
